MY POPTUN

Poptun Poptún is a municipality in the department of Petén, in the Republic of Guatemala. It is the second most populated municipality in the department and has a border with Belize. The climate is tropical, between 25 ° C and 30 ° C most of the year. Since 1989, Military Zone 23 in Poptún has been the base of the elite group «kaibiles», the special operations force of the Guatemalan Army.
